Caring for the Elderly in Bangladesh: A Growing Need for Community Support and Sustainable Solutions

Bangladesh's society is transforming from the traditional extended family structure to smaller or nuclear units. This change, along with rising living costs and limited income is reshaping family dynamics and responsibilities. Many families are living on constrained incomes, with rising expenses leaving minimal opportunities for savings. As a result, when individuals reach old age and can no longer work; they often find themselves in a vulnerable position, unable to rely fully on their children due to financial constraints.

Addressing the Issue of Our Aged Society:

The rising cost of living is a pressing issue, particularly for middle-class and lower-income families. Families are struggling to take on the financial and caregiving responsibilities of their aged parents and loved ones often due to limited earnings themselves. Besides, the task of caring for elderly family members is both challenging and time sensitive. And the need for financial resources has definitely added an extra step to this challenge.

Our Caregiving Model at AgedCareCentre

Recognizing this growing need, it is essential for upper echelons of society, corporations, and charitable organizations to step in and offer support. We at Aged Care Centre is committed to addressing this critical issue by providing affordable, compassionate care for the elderly. We understand the strain faced by middle-class and lower-income families, so our program offers a flexible payment model. Families can contribute according to their financial capacity, and the remaining costs are supplemented through our organization's income, donations, zakat, corporate social responsibility (CSR) contributions, and other sources available.
